What does Define Your Audience mean? 
Defining your audience is the foundation of all of your marketing efforts. Your audience are the people you talk with and share ideas with. They are the community that your reach out and those who cheer you on. These are the people who know, like, and trust you. They are your definition of your best and most desireable customer. These are the people you speak to.

Who do you reach out to?
Depending on your product / service, business culture, and purpose, your audience will be different from others in your field or relatively close to them. It depends on where you are in the marketplace and who you want to attract. For instance, the audience for a concert venue in Portland, OR is going to be different than that of a concert venue in say Tulsa, OK. The demographics are largely different and one show may do better in Portland than it does in Tulsa because of the audience they serve, the culture of the community, and backgrounds of people who work, live, and play in that area.

Our job as marketing professionals is to find that sweet spot, that area in the marketplace where our message resonates.
